Getting started

Make an account on this website, build your first loadout, download the game, sign in from the game's own window, and talk to the Tutor.

1. Make an account

Go to /register. The form asks for:

  • Username — what you sign in with. Letters and numbers, 4–15 characters.
  • Character name — what you are called in the game. 4–15 letters and numbers, no spaces or punctuation. You can change it later from /characters/me, while you are logged out of the game.
  • Password and Confirm password — 4–14 characters. The game client cannot send a longer one.
  • Email, a security question and its answer.

An account has one character, and it cannot be deleted. Your name, silver, CP, warehouse and items go with you to every realm, apart from items bound to one realm.

If the character name is taken, the form says so and you pick another.

The loadout page and the create-realm page each have a Show me how button at the top. Press it and the page walks you through itself, a tip at a time, with each part of the form pointed at in turn; press it again to start over.

2. Build your first loadout

You need a loadout before you can play. A loadout is a build: its rebirth path, its body and portrait, its gear, its attribute points and its skills. You pick the path first — first class, second class, then the class it plays — and then the body, garment and gear, and spend every attribute point.

See Your character for what each part means. You can make more loadouts later and switch between them. The one you are wearing cannot be edited on the website while you are in the game: change it at a LoadoutManager - there is one in every city where the Blacksmith used to stand, one in the Market and one in the PK Arena.

3. Download and install

Go to /download and press Download the game. It is one archive with everything in it; there is nothing else to find or patch.

  1. Extract the archive somewhere you can write to, not Program Files. It is a .7z file: Windows 11 opens one by double-clicking, and on older Windows 7-Zip or NanaZip will extract it.
  2. Run ConquerRealmsLauncher.exe. It brings the game up to date; then press Play.

If the download will not start, the download page lists other places the same archive is kept. A copy there may be older; the launcher updates it.

4. Sign in and pick a realm

The game opens on its sign-in window.

  1. Enter your Username and Password and press Sign in.
  2. The Realms list shows every realm you can enter, with its Region and Ping. Ping is shown in bands once it has been measured, from green to red; a realm in red is a long way from you.
  3. Pick a realm and press Play.

To enter a private realm, press Join code and type the code its host gave you. A realm you join stays in your list. You can also enter a code on the website at /redeem.

If you have no realm yet, press Create your realm on the realm list, or make one on the website. Browse the others at /realms — each one's page says what its rules change. See Realms.

5. The Tutor

Your first character starts in Twin City, beside the Tutor, who stands there in every realm. Talk to the Tutor and choose Show me to be taken through what makes this world different, a step at a time: summoning bots, a football match, founding a guild, a guild war you lead with GW Tactics, and changing your loadout.

Each step comes as the Tutor's words, wherever you are, and the button to press next is ringed in gold. While a step needs one, the Tutor lends you a command of its own in GM Commands - Add tutorial bots, Start football tutorial and Start guild war tutorial - so you can run the tutorial in any realm, your own or a friend's. The football match ends when you score, and the guild war when your guild takes the pole.

Choose Skip the tutorial to put it away. Talk to the Tutor again to carry on from where you left it, to hear the current step again, or to start over from the beginning.
