Realms
A realm is a separate world in the game, with its own rules, that your one character can visit.
What a realm is
Every realm is a full copy of the game world, and anyone can host one and decide how it plays. Your character is the same everywhere, but some things belong to each realm.
| Goes with you to every realm | Kept separately in each realm |
|---|---|
| Your name, silver, CP and warehouse | Where you are standing, your health and mana |
| Your items, apart from ones bound to a realm | PK points, enemies and marriage |
| Your loadouts | Guilds, nobility and guild wars |
| Your friends |
Everyone in a realm plays at the level its host set, for as long as they play there. There is no experience, and your skills and weapon proficiencies are already as high as that level allows.
A friend shows as online only when they are in the same realm as you.
Joining a realm
Browse /realms to see what is open, then pick a realm in the game's sign-in window and press Play. A realm tagged Custom rules has changed its Advanced rules; its page, and /rules in the game, say how.
Monsters drop meteors, dragonballs and silver and nothing else, and no realm can change that. There is no mining.
In a realm a player hosts, whatever monsters drop is bound to that realm: it stays there and cannot be turned into silver or CP. Monsters there drop no silver.
No shop sells weapons or armour and nothing upgrades gear: every player fights in what their loadout hands out, at the realm's level and quality, and it never wears. The Shopping Mall sells only the PenitenceAmulet - 30 PK points off, at 30 or more, once an hour and never in jail - and the city gates; a garment is chosen on your loadout, and a garment, NinjaAmulet or BlackTulip you already own stays yours and still works. Hair dyes are still sold. See Your character.
A Private realm only lets in the people its host invited, or who used its join code. Enter a code in the game's sign-in window under Join code, or at /redeem. A private realm whose host has left open slots is in everyone's realm list until they are taken: press Take a slot on /realms, or pick it in the game's sign-in window and press Play, and you are on its list from then on.
A realm whose region is asleep wakes when somebody presses Play on it, or Start on its page. That takes a few minutes; the realm's page says how long, and when it is open.
A realm closes on its own when its time runs out. Everyone inside is warned 30, 15, 5 and 1 minutes before, then saved and returned to the sign-in window.
Events
A realm can schedule events: football, a guild war, or something of its host's own. /realms lists realms with an event on now first, then the ones whose event is soonest, each with when it starts in your own time and how many players are interested. Press Interested there or on the realm's page to say you are coming; press it again to take it back. Shortly before it starts you are reminded in the game's chat if you are playing, and by a direct message if you linked Discord with /link; when it starts, you are told where it is.
Tick what you are up for - football, guild wars, PvP, hunting - on your character's page, and the realm list offers those first: pick one to see only the realms that say they are for it or have that kind of event coming. A realm's host schedules, changes and cancels its events on the realm's page, and says what the realm is for there; so can anyone they let start events in it. An event is a time for everyone to be there: the host still starts football or the guild war in the game when it comes round.
Hosting a realm
Press Create a realm on /realms. You choose:
- Name — what players see in the realm list.
- What do you intend on doing? — optional, up to 100 words: guild war practice, a football league, a PvP bracket. Players read it on the realm's page, and how it begins in the realm list.
- Region — pick the one closest to the people playing. It decides their ping and cannot be changed later.
- Open for — 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 or 24 hours. The time starts once the region has a server up, not while it wakes.
- Private — on by default: only people you invite by character name, or who use a join code, can join. On its page you can also open slots, any time: that many more players can join with no invite, one slot each.
- Level and gear and Day and night — below.
Your realm's page lists anyone you have banned with /ban in the game, and Unban lets them back. You can have three realms open at a time. In the game, /extend keeps your realm open longer, at no cost, up to 24 hours from now; Close now on its page closes it early. A closed realm keeps everything that happened in it and can be opened again from its page with Open again; Delete realm clears it for good and frees its name.
A new realm has guards in the towns and nothing else spawns, until you change that. In the game, the host has commands of their own for spawns, bots, events and players — see Commands.
What a host can change
Level and gear
Everyone plays at the realm's Level (1–130), whatever level they are elsewhere, with gear built to match: its Plus, Bless, Enchant and Quality, and the Talisman everyone wears in the gourd slot, each listed with what it adds. A realm at a level other than 130, or one whose Characters tab changes how many points there are, gives each player a separate pool of attribute points to spend there, kept with Save my attributes at a LoadoutManager. The level and gear, the name, what you intend on doing, privacy, and Day and night can be changed on the website only while the realm is closed. In the game, the host can change the lengths of day and night, and which it is now, at any time with Set day and night (/daynight).
Advanced rules
These can be changed at any time, from the create form or the realm's rules page. Players in the realm see a change within a few seconds.
| Tab | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Characters | Attribute points per level, bonus attribute points, health per Strength, Agility, Vitality and Spirit, mana per Spirit |
| Combat | Plain attack damage, weapon skill chance, XP skill bar speed, stamina recovery, 150 stamina for everyone (the most a praying stone's blessing gave), what each stamina skill costs (0 to 100), how long the dead wait to revive (1 to 60 seconds, 20 as the game has it; the PK Arena never waits more than 5), Superman, the second rebirth's damage reduction, potions, how many allies and enemies a guild can name (5 to 10, 5 as the game has it), and Guild enemies that go both ways |
| Skills | Each skill's damage, healing or mana |
| Buffs | What each buff gives |
| Versions | Content from later versions of the game, listed under the version that brought it: Jumps 20% faster (5089), Pure Warriors holding a shield with their two-handed weapon (5287), and Spears and wands getting Viper Fang and Dragon Tail (5376) |
| Monsters | Which monsters spawn on each map |
| PvP | Whether Red and black names can drop what they carry in their bag when killed, never what they wear |
PvP drops, the newer clients' faster Jumps, 150 stamina for everyone, Pure Warriors, Spears and wands, two-way guild enemies, and turning potions off are all off in a new realm. Any death, in any realm, can drop something a player found and carries in their bag; PvP drops add one more for a red or black name. Gear a loadout hands out never drops.
The game's Status window and skill tooltips still show the normal numbers. /rules and the realm's page show what the realm really uses.
