Your character
Your character is a name and a purse; how it looks and fights comes from the loadout you wear, and all of it is managed on your character page.
One character, many loadouts
An account has one character. Its name, silver, CP and warehouse are the same whichever loadout you wear, and your level is set by the realm you are in.
A loadout is a build: its rebirth path, its body and portrait, its gear, its attribute points and its skills. You can have several and switch between them.
- On the website, press Select on a loadout to wear it at your next login, while you are logged out of the game.
- In the game, talk to a LoadoutManager: there is one in the Market, one in the PK Arena and one in every city, where the Blacksmith used to stand. Change loadout switches to another of yours, and Edit current loadout changes the one you are wearing.
While you are in the game, the loadout you are playing is locked on the website. You can still rename it; the new name arrives the next time you speak to a LoadoutManager or log in. To play differently, edit it at a LoadoutManager (below), edit another loadout and switch to it there, or keep what you change in the game. Any other loadout can be edited at any time. An edit the site cannot make straight away is listed on your character page, and made the next time you speak to a LoadoutManager or log in.
The loadout you have selected cannot be deleted: select another first.
Editing the loadout you are wearing
Edit current loadout at a LoadoutManager offers everything the loadout's page on the website does: its Gear - a slot, then the kind of item, then the gem in each socket - its Garment and the colours you have for it, its Skill colours - a skill your weapons cast, then the part of it, then a colour - and Disguise colours - your ghost or a disguise, then a colour - its Body and face - the face from the same window the Beautician used, several faces at a time - its Rebirth path and its Attribute points, typed in. Each change is made as soon as you finish choosing it - a slot once you have picked its second gem, your points once every one is placed - and you are dressed in the result with your health and mana filled. If a change needs something more, such as an off hand after swapping a two-handed weapon for a one-handed one, you are asked for it first; Back at any point leaves your loadout as it was. New colour palettes and garments are made on the website. It cannot be used during an event such as football.
Keeping what you change in the game
The game always dresses you from your loadout, and nothing you change while you play is written back to it: points you spend, a new body from the Surgeon, hair from the Barber, gear you have dyed, a garment you bought and put on. All of it lasts until you next log in or switch loadouts, unless you keep it at a LoadoutManager:
- Save my attributes keeps the points as you have spent them, and any you have not spent yet.
- Save my appearance keeps your body, face, hair and the colours of your headgear, armour and shield, and puts the garment you are wearing in place of the loadout's own. A loadout with no garment keeps none.
Each shows what it is about to change, old and new, before you confirm, with Go back to leave it. Neither can be used during an event such as football. Your hotkeys are kept as you change them.
Loadout gear
The gear a loadout hands out is as good as the realm allows, and it never wears. You can take it off and put it back on, but never drop, sell, trade, put on a booth or store it. An archer's loadout carries a quiver that never runs out.
Making a loadout
Press New loadout. It is all on one page, saved at once: a Loadout name, then these, in this order. An account can have 10 loadouts.
- Rebirth path — a first class, a second class and the present class, the one it plays: Trojan, Warrior, Water Taoist, Fire Taoist or Archer.
- Look and gear — first Gender and Body type (Agile or Muscular), which decide which garments fit. Then the gear, in a copy of the game's own equipment window: choose a slot to change what is in it. For each slot you pick a kind of item, such as "Blade", and up to two gems — Dragon, Phoenix, Fury or Tortoise. You do not pick a talisman: the realm you log in to decides which one everyone wears. The realm you log in to decides which item of that kind you get, at its level and quality. A two-handed weapon leaves the off hand empty. The garment and its colours are in the garment slot — see below.
- Attributes — every point must be spent before you can save. Vitality is on top of the 12 every loadout keeps.
The form shows the expected health and mana as you place points, for a realm at level 130 with the game's own rules. A realm at another level, or one that changes how many points there are, keeps separate points for each loadout, spent in game with /str, /agi, /vit and /spi and kept with Save my attributes — see Commands.
Changing the rebirth path hands every point back to spend again, and empties any slot the new class cannot wear; changing it back before you save puts that gear back.
Portrait
Each loadout has its own portrait. Click the portrait on the loadout's page and pick a face. The website cannot change the portrait of the loadout you are playing while you are in the game; change it in the game with Edit current loadout, under Body and face. Faces are a man's or a woman's, so changing a loadout between male and female changes its portrait too; changing back brings the old one back.
Garments
A garment is cosmetic only: it carries no stats and never wears out.
Colours
Once a garment that can be recoloured is picked, Colours keeps its Default colours or makes a new one with New colour palette...: move each of its colours — Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and up to three Details — on a honeycomb, and watch the garment change beside it. A palette is your character's own for that garment, and any of your loadouts wearing it can use it, so editing it changes them all; the editor names them first. You can keep 20 palettes per garment. Phoenix, Elegance and Celestial also have Presets — Brown, Black, Red, Green, Blue and Purple — that anyone may wear.
In the game, a recoloured garment's icon has a small colour wheel in its corner, and its hover text lists the colours under Recoloured:.
Uploading your own
Press Upload a garment under Garments on /characters/me, or choose it from the garment list on a loadout form. Upload only art you have the right to use.
Give it an inventory icon (DDS), and for each body it was made for, a mesh (C3) and a texture (DDS); Choose the maker's folder puts a maker's files in place for you. An effect is optional, and you can preview the garment before uploading. Tick Show the wearer's own hair only for a garment made for it — it cannot be changed afterwards.
An upload is live at once, worn by your character alone, in loadouts whose body it was made for. A character can hold 50 garments; Remove one to make room. To report a garment another player is wearing, use Report a garment.
Your name
Change it under Change your name on /characters/me. Log out of the game first. Names are 4–15 letters and numbers.
PvP recordings
Fights between players are recorded to teach the game's bots to fight. A recording never holds your name, account or chat. Tick Keep me anonymous in PvP recordings and press Save to be written under a new random id each time you log in, rather than the same one in every fight. It applies to fights recorded after you save.
